美國土壤學會理事長Michael L. Thompson教授訪問交流通知
應黑土地保護與利用全國重點實驗室(籌)邀請，美國土壤學會理事長、愛荷華州立大學教授Michael L. Thompson將于2024年7月12日至19日到訪中國科學院東北地理與農業生態研究所，開展學術交流活動，就進一步加強中美土壤學會黑土地保護利用的合作交流進行深入探討。
訪問期間，Thompson教授擬于7月12日至17日為所內青年科研人員及研究生授課交流，并于7月19日Workshop-1研討會上作專題學術報告，在7月20日的Workshop-2—優秀研究生英語論壇和研究生進行學術交流，在7月22日東北地理所主辦的第四屆黑土地保護與利用國際論壇（ICBS4）作大會特邀報告。歡迎廣大科研人員和研究生參會交流！
一、專家簡介
Michael L. Thompson，愛荷華州立大學教授、美國土壤學會理事長、美國科學促進會Fellow、美國農學會Fellow，美國土壤學會Fellow，是土壤界面過程的國際著名專家，美國農業部和環境署等部門的咨詢專家。長期從事土壤化學和礦物學在環境保護領域的研究，發表論文100余篇，出版Soil Genesis and Geomorphology專著4部。Michael Thompson is a professor in the Agronomy Department at Iowa State University, where he has been on the faculty since 1980. He holds a BS in Agricultural Sciences from the University of Illinois and a PhD in Agronomy (soil genesis) from the Ohio State University. His research and teaching programs center on environmental and agronomic applications of soil chemistry and mineralogy.? He is a Fellow of the Soil Science Society of America, the American Society of Agronomy, and the American Association for the Advancement of Science. In 2024. he serves as the President of the Soil Science Society of America.
